"You were born together and together you shall be forevermore...
But let there be spaces in your togetherness.
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you."

All is going well

Well, things are finally starting to calm down here. We've had a pretty busy couple of weeks. It all started when my tax returns had arrived which started a bit of shopping... hoorah for that. LOL! We were able to use a bit of that money to purchase a much needed mini-van. It's a really nice Grand Voyager Expresso. It has dual sliding side doors, seats 7 and is more spacious than I could have dared hope for. It was owned by an older couple, parents of friends from work. So the van was well cared for. It had just had brakes and a brand spankin' new tranny put into it. The former owner even gave it an oil change for us. I LOVE my new van. It has proven to be quite comfy, reliable and just what the doctor ordered for our rapidly growing family.

We got the van just in time for last weekend, which required a trip to the Helen DeVos children's hospital in Grand Rapids where Spencer had to have a CAT scan done on his skull to check for fused skull bones. Spencer handled it like a true champ and all turned out well. His head in fact was NOT fused, much to our relief. And we were able to have him fitted for a skull shaping helmet here in our city. It will arrive in another week or so.

While in Grand Rapids, we were able to go visit Samantha, Shawn's sister and her girlfriend Nicol. We had dinner and then retired to our motel room before getting up and headed to Saginaw to go visit our family. We had a really awesome visit with my dad, siblings, nieces and nephews. We played the Nintendo Wii for hours on end and just became the loud, obnoxious, crazy family that we are. It was a nice trip. I was even able to kidnap my Dad for a couple weeks. We brought him home with us.

Things have been getting a bit easier day by day. Finances are starting to fall into place as best as they can. I am gradually learning to deal with the stresses of money woes and try to take it all in stride. The twins are doing wonderfully. They're staying healthy which has been a relief and they're growing like weeds. Meadow weighed in today at just a few ounces under 20 lbs, Spencer was just under 17 lbs. Meadow is 26.5 inches tall and her brother is 24 inches I think it was.

The twins aren't crawling yet. They're a bit behind as they still can't quite sit up alone yet. But they're getting there. Spencer rolls over a lot now. They're both eating well and moving on to soft table foods which is fun. Feeding time is quite a riot in our home. Meadow refuses to sit idle and be fed. She grabs the spoon and tries to feed herself. She did all right for a bit but apparently, she grew patient as she grabbe dthe entire bowl and put it to her face to feed. I laughed.

The new baby seems to be healthy. At my last check up, we got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I was awed. Music to my ears, it was. At just over 3 months along, I am growing quite the belly already. Le sigh. After this baby is born, I am REALLY going to have to focus on losing this baby weight as I never did afetr the twins were born.

Life has been amazing. We've had our fair share of pitfalls. But the blessings far outweigh the woes.

I hope all is going well with all of you. Thanks for tuning in.

Always,
Sara
